The Plateau Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Plateau state as part of its ploy to deceive the public is at it again.
This time around, it is recycling quantum of mischief, outright ignorance and habitual spreading of falsehood.

APC State Publicity Secretary in a statement made available to this medium stated that the hapless PDP in its press release by its clueless Publicity Secretary, John Akans in Jos this evening claims to be alerting the public to so – called matters of public importance which include in alia, ongoing employment into the state civil service which it describes as plotting evil agenda against the state.
Other allegations in the clearly mischievous press release include the expansion of wage bills through contractual obligations and increased payroll.
In the party’s makeshift belief it claimed that from statistics available, (we believe available only to the PDP) 11,000 workers of various cadres have since the last General Elections been employed in especially the state -owned tertiary institutions which include the Colleges of Health Technology, Zawan and Pankshin, Plateau State Polytechnic Barkin Ladi, College of Education Gindiri, College of Arts and Science, Kurgwi and College of Agriculture, Garkawa.
The PDP surprisingly describes the exercise as vindictive decisions against the citizens of the state which it says it is going to reverse!
To set the tune for the PDP’s unhidden hatred for civil and public servants which it left unpaid monthly wages of eight months during its unceremonious exit in 2015, the party has stated in no uncertain terms that;
” We want to be very categorical on employment letters hurriedly issued in the last weeks of this administration stand a great risk as they were done in contravention of the civil service rules of engagement as such they are questionable”.
As a very responsible APC government in the state, we cannot remain silent on unguarded and provocative statements by the PDP in the state since the claim of victory in the March 18th, gubernatorial election in the state.
We are not surprise by this setting of foundation for avoidable crises in the state which is the hallmark of the PDP on the Plateau.
First it has sworn to undo anything in the state with the signature, stamp and approval of Governor Simon Lalong in the past eight years.
We are equally not surprised that the PDP has targeted the workforce first for the unleashing of its vendetta.
No wonder, its statement that prompt payment of salaries is not an achievement is better understood within the context of what it now intents to unleash on the innocent workers.
Let us deal with the ignorance of the PDP amidst its desperation to take over on 29th May, 2023.
His Excellency Governor Simon Bako Lalong CON remains the constitutionally elected Executive Governor of Plateau State till the handing over to a new dispensation on 29th May, 2023.
Every decisions and actions taken by his administration including employment of qualified Plateau indigenes and not foreigners following due process would only amount to reversing the hand of the clock of progres which the PDP should be ready to face the consequences.
This is not a threat but a piece of caution against impunity which are traits of the PDP in the state.
For the records, it is totally false and mischievous to claim that the Lalong administration has only embarked on employment in the civil and public service towards the twilight of his administration but an ongoing exercise which began few weeks on his assumption of office in May 2015 with the employment of over a thousand primary school teachers and reinstatement of hundreds of sacked workers in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)
As part of its blackmail, the PDP in its release claims that the Lalong Administration is planning to convert unlisted government properties at Dogon Dutse and elsewhere within and outside the state to personal use.
These are recycled unsubstantiated claims by the party which are false in all their ramifications.
To further blackmail the Lalong administration which it has never seen or say anything good about and to set him against the inhabitants of Jos and environs, the PDP alleges that the the state Water Board can no longer supply water to the public due to power outage occasioned by non payment for this essential utility.
The PDP is fully aware that one of the major achievements of Governor Simon Bako Lalong is the ending of perennial water shortage in Jos, which understandably it is not comfortable with, as it believes in seeing the public suffer.
What no one can take away from Governor Lalong is the restoration of peace, unity and good governance in Plateau state as against the impunity that was perpetrated by his predecessor.
The APC wants to warn that anything that the PDP would do to undermine the existing peace and the peace building legacies of the Lalong administration would be resisted by all patriotic forces in the state.
The party should retrace the very wrong and precarious steps it is contemplating to take for the sake of peace and its ingredients in our beloved state which is built on justice, fairness and good governance.
