A Taiwanese, Ivy Hung, has called on the Inspector General of Police and other relevant security agencies, to rearrest, Mr. Chiedu Christian Nwosu, over an alleged fraud of $1,164,646, against
Polleen Cooperation.
She said the Federal Government of Nigeria should also protect the human rights of foreign investors in the country.
Ivy Hung, made the call in a presser, Sunday, saying they had between 2006 to 2017, supplied goods to Sahara Tooling Ltd, owned by Mr. Chiedu Christian Nwosu, and his wife, Mrs May Ifeanychukwu Nwosu, but up till now the dou refused to pay the claimed amount of $1,164,646.
According to her, Polleen Cooperation are experienced investors from Taiwan, based in Nigeria for over 18 years, doing business and supporting Federal Government quest of direct foreign investment.
“Sahara Tooling Ltd a company registered in No. 5 Winning Stress, Asaba, Delta with RC Number: 1232007, a joint venture company owned by Nwosu and his wife, Mrs. May Ifeanychukwu Nwosu, a medical nurse in the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, Anambra State, received goods from our company, Polleen Corporation, on credit basis.
“After they sold the shipment, they refused to pay us the money for the shipment. Instead, Mr. Chiedu and his wife Mrs. May diverted the money to personal use by investing some of the money into a transport company, African Eagle Multi-Transport Services Limited,” Ivy Hung said.
The Taiwanese investor said, they had in mid, 2017 petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after which Mr Chiedu Christian Nwosu, was apprehended, for allegedly, defrauding their company Polleen Cooperation to the tune of, “USD $1,164,646…”
She said Mr. Nwosu was released on bail, but has failed to pay them, adding that he was latter rearrested by INTERPOL, in September, 2021, and having confessed to have owed their company the claimed amount, he signed an undertaking to reimburse N5m on monthly basis, till the debt is fully settled, on that he was again released on bail, but has again disappeared, and shuttling between Nigeria and Ghana axis, establishing some businesses.
She further alleged that Mr Chiedu Nwosu, had once issued them a bounced cheque, which bank account was short of funds, which action had caused their company untold hardship.
“We are here to plead to the Nigerian authority not to abuse the real meaning of Human Rights and at the same time, we want to call the attention of Federal Government of Nigeria that foreign investors deserve human rights as well in Nigeria,” Ivy Hung said.
