The Acting Rector of the Plateau State Polytechnic Dr. Clement Selcum Chirman has call on Tarok nation to support Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang in other for him to succeed.
Dr. Chairman made the call while hosting members of the Nklang O’tarok ga liryem yesterday Thursday 28 March 2024 at the Permanent site of the Polytechnic Heipang Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the State.
Dr Chirman commended Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang’s decision to cancelled the last employment made by the last administration, saying, that’s one of the most ridiculous thing that had ever happened in the history of tertiary institutions in Plateau State.
He said how on earth will the Government give employment to someone who lack lecturing knowledge to make him a lecture in the State tertiary institution.
Furthermore, Dr. Chirman said our children and younger ones are coming to acquire knowledge in this prestigious institution and you go and bring illiterate who has no idea of lecturing and you give him lecturing work in an institution like the Plateau State Polytechnic.
The AG Rector also appealed to Plateau people to rally round Governor Mutfwang in other for the Governor to be taking bold step in addressing some of the problem of tertiary institutions.
The AG Rector also revealed that immediately Governor Caleb Mutfwang was sworn in on May 29, 2023, he carefully study the problem associated with the constant strike in tertiary institutions on the Plateau and he directed the released of money to all the tertiary institutions.
According to him, part time lecturers who are use to constant protest blocking of major roads in the state due to lack of payment has become a thing of the past since the coming of Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
Dr. Chirman also revealed that Governor Caleb Mutfwang in his determination to reposition the falling standard of education in the state has order that best brain should given topmost priority and qualify lecturers should be recruited into the system.
Cirman condemned how politicians are destroying the educational sector instead of bringing those that are qualified to do the job but they go about bringing people that are not qualified for that job.
He explained further that there are graduates who came out with first class degrees roaming the streets because they don’t have anyone they can’t get appointment to impact positive knowledge to the next generations .
Dr Clement Selchum stressed that he came to occupy the Rector of Plateau State Polytechnic Barkin Ladi on merit so no one would intimidate or bring that attitude of corruption in his office .
