Senator Simon Bako Lalong, representing Plateau South Senatorial District was among sympathizers who paid last respects to the late Miskoom Thaddeus Shaldas, a District Head in Shendam and elder brother to the current Long Gamai of Gamailand land HRH Miskoom Martin Shaldas III.
Dr. Makut Simon Macham Special Adviser (Media) to Senator Simon Bako Lalong, Plateau South Senatorial District in a statement made available to News Parrot Online stated at the funeral Mass held at the Catholic Cathedral Shendam, Senator Lalong paid glowing tribute to the deceased, describing him as a man of honour who lived a life of service and purpose before his demise.
Senator Lalong also acknowledged the role that the late District Head of Shendam ‘A’ Ward played in enhancing the Gamai traditional institution and ensuring that its values and stabilisation roles were properly carried out.
A representative of the Gamai Traditional Council thanked the sympathisers and Church for honouring one of their own and also making time to attend the funeral rites.
A member of the immediate family also expressed happiness and appreciation for the support received by their late father before his demise.
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang represented by Hon. Kemi Nshe said the death of late Thaddeus Shaldas is great loss to the entire State.
The officiating Priest in his Homily referred to the story of Job which according to him clearly shows that man needs God and eternal salvation above worldly material gains that are perishable.
Senator Lalong thereafter proceeded to Wase to condole with the family of late Alh. Sanusi Baba Tela, APC Chairman, Wase Local Government who died recently.
He described the deceased as a grassroots politician and community mobiliser who worked for the people and did everything possible to nurture the APC and ensure its victory in many elections.
Senator Lalong said the deceased left a legacy of peace, love and unity which will continue to guide and inspire those left behind.
Deputy National Secretary of the APC Barr. Festus Fuanter also extended the sympathies of the APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and said he was personally saddened by the demise of Alh. Tella who was a political leader of worthy note.
