Youth groups have endorsed the chairmanship candidature of Hon Huzaifa Ibrahim Abdullahi, for the seat of Jos North Local Government Council, in the forthcoming October 2024 general elections.
The 53 political support groups mainly of political support groups, made the endorsement under the leadership of Sadis Muhammad Albasu and Gloria Audu, saying the candidature of Hon Huzaifa, under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), being their peer as youth, is timely.
“We are all here as youth, from across 53 youth groups that made up off Jos North LGA, and as Muslims and Christians, having seen your tangible philanthropic stride, feel that it is important to make our support known to you.
“We will do all political as lawful our support to ensure that you win the general election for the seat of Chairmanship of Jos North Local Government Council,” Albasu said.
The secretary of the coalition, Gloria Audu said Huzaifa’s selfless services to the people of Jos North, without any religious or ethnic consideration has prompted their support for him.
“You have been an inspiration to the youths, as our peer that has joined the contest we are happy and your contest for the seat has come at the right time, it is timely,” she said.
The candidate, Hon. Huzaifa, said it wasn’t his intend to vie for any political elective or appointive position, but his peers amongst the Muslims and Christians, persuaded him to first aspire and now contesting the chairmanship position of Jos North LGC.
“I assure you that we will continue to do the best we could to ensure good governance if elected. Our philanthropic support to our people will not be tempered with our political aspiration. I thank you all for the love and support,” he said.
Hon. Huzaifa enjoined the youth to always be law abiding and also make sure they come out to votes during the election.
