The recently retired Plateau State Head of Civil Service Barr. Mrs Rauta Dakok has revealed that no fewer than 7892 thousand Plateau State civil servants got their promotion within the shortest period of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang’s Administration on on the Plateau.
Barrister Mrs Dakok made the disclosure yesterday 29th August, 2024 at the conference hall of the cabinet office Joseph Gwomwalk Secretariat Jos the Plateau State capital while officially handing over the mantle of leadership to her successor Mr Stephen Pam Gadongs.
Furthermore, Barr. Mrs Dakok disclosed that around 2021 the Plateau State Government came out with a policy suspending promotion of civil servants,and for that many couldn’t get their promotion.
She said, but with the coming of Governor Mutfwang’s administration, ministries were asked to forward the brief of those who are qualified for promotion.
And places like the Teachers Service Commission, Civil Service Commission have being working on that.
She said one can imagine that one person is entitle to three, some two promotions due to the lack of constant promotion and somebody is retiring without his or she promotion.
Barr. Mrs Dakok further disclosed that when this directive came, the promotion letters were to those that were due for promotion.
On his part, the brand new appointed and sworn in Plateau State Head of Civil Service, Mr Stephen Pam Gadongs thank God Almighty for seeing him through his service career up to the time Gov. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang deem it fit to appoint him the head of service of Plateau.
He said, the appointment is a privilege bestowed upon him to work for the people of Plateau State.
Mr. Gadongs also revealed that during his swearing two days ago, the Governor inform him to know that the task ahead of him is quite challenging, because his dream for the civil servants is to be the best.
Mr Gadongs also revealed that he is going to use his wealth of experience to achieve that which His Excellency Gov. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang want to achieve on the Plateau in regard to the welfare and promotion of civil servants on the Plateau.
Furthermore, Mr Gadongs in his disclosure, revealed that his predecessor enumerated a lot of successes that this present administration under the leadership of His Excellency Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has taken.
He said, he is very very aware that a lot need to be done for the civil servants, which the Governor the informed him that he is seriously working on their minimum wage.
