A Non Governmental Organization under the auspices of Ruth Kirnan Charity Foundation has today 11th October 2023 celebrate the International Girl Child Day at Government Senior and Junior Secondary School Chwalnyap Jos North Local Government Council of Plateau State.
The Chairman Chief Executive Officer CEO of Ruth Kirnan Ngupar Foundation, Mrs Ruth Kirnan Ngupar while delivering her speech stated that this is the day set aside by the United Nations (UN) to mark the international girl child day.
She stated that she is deeply honored to stand before the students today as a representative of the Ruth Kirnan Charity Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting girls and young women in the community. On this auspicious occasion, as they gather here to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child and celebrate the remarkable potential that lies within each and every one of them.
Furthermore, the CEO stated that the International Day of the Girl Child serves as a global reminder of the importance of gender equality, education, and empowerment for girls worldwide. And It is a day when they come together to recognize the challenges that girls often face, but also to celebrate their resilience, strength, and limitless possibilities.
She said, as the young girls seated here, she want them to know that they are the architects of change, the creators of dreams, and the leaders of tomorrow. In a world that is constantly evolving, their voices, their ideas, and their dreams matter.
Mrs Ngupar also revealed that Ruth Kirnan Charity Foundation firmly believes in their brilliance, and they are there today to remind them of the power they hold within themselves.
The CEO further stated that education, her dear girls, is the key that unlocks countless doors of opportunity. It is the foundation upon which they can build a future filled with success and fulfillment.
She encouraged them never underestimate the transformative power of education.
And also encourage them embrace it with open hearts and minds, for it has the ability to change their lives and those around them.
She said, they should always remember that knowledge is not confined to the walls of a classroom, but rather it is an ever-evolving journey that continues throughout their lives.
Mrs Ngupar also stated that as the world commemorate this special day, they also recognize the challenges that affect girls’ education and well-being. As they understand the importance of addressing these obstacles head-on.
That is why, as part of their visit today, they are proud to share that they have brought with them a gift of sanitary pads for each and every one of the female students. The NGO believe that access to menstrual hygiene products should never hinder them pursuit of education and dreams.
She also revealed that It is the Organizational hope that this small gesture will contribute to their overall well-being and ensure that nothing stands in the way of their success.
Mrs Ngupar also stated that today they celebrate their voices, their resilience, and their dreams. And they encourage the students to dream big, to set goals that may seem impossible, and to pursue them with unwavering determination.
And they should remember that their dreams are valid, and they have the power to turn them into reality.
She further stated that on behalf of the Ruth Kirnan Charity Foundation, extend her deepest gratitude to the school authorities and teachers for their unwavering support in creating an environment that nurtures and empowers young girls.
She said together, they can create a world where every girl has equal opportunities, where their voices are heard, and where they can thrive without limitations.
As they commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child, they reaffirm their commitment to supporting and empowering girls everywhere.

On her part, Nurse Nanret Tangshak who was the guest speaker at the occasion to educate the students on ways in which a girl child can take care of her health hygiene in the use of sanitary napkins
Stated that menstruation is a natural and healthy part of a girl’s life, and it is important for girls to learn how to manage their menstruation hygienically and comfortably.
She said sanitary napkins are one type of menstrual product that girls can use.
She also explain to the students reason why menstrual hygiene is important, by stating that menstrual hygiene is important for a number of reasons because it can help to prevent infections,
Reduce odors and
help a girl feel comfortable and confident to allow a girl to participate in all of her daily activities without restrictions.
Furthermore Nurse Tangshak also revealed to them how to use sanitary napkins by first and famous wash their hands with soap and water, before they open the wrapper and remove the sanitary napkin.
She concluded her awareness by informing them the important for girls to learn and practice good menstrual hygiene habits.
As she said this can help them to stay healthy and comfortable during their period.
In her word of appreciation, the Principal Senior Secondary School Chwalnyap, Mrs Tabitha C. Davou who could not hide her joy as it was showing all over her face, stated that they are very grateful to the management and staff of Ruth Kirnan Charity Foundation whom in their magnanimity decided to choose her school to celebrate this year’s girl child international day.
She said, it is not all schools that have the privilege to host this great visitors whom out of their tight schedule decided to come not only to celebrate with her students, but give them sanitary pads.
Mrs Davou further stated that it is not all the schools in the State that have the privilege to be recognized and to also have deep education on menstrual hygiene of this nature.
The Principal also used the opportunity to call on spirited individuals in the society to emulate the Ruth Kirnan Charity Foundation by keying into things of this nature said.
