Football scouts from Europe and Asia have stormed Jos the Plateau state capital to collaborate with the Plateau State Football Associate to hunt for talented players at the grassroots to enable them ply their trade abroad.
The partnership commenced Wednesday as grassroots coaches assembled players to participate in a scouting Tournament.
The partnership is an initiative of the Chief Executive Officer CEO of Rafo Sports Management who brought in European and Asian clubs top Management for a parley held at Valada conference Hall ,in Jos.
The parley between the European and Asian scouts with Plateau football Association is courtesy the CEO of Rafo Sports Management , Okaka Harrison which also featured grassroots coaches.
The idea is set to offer a new era under the leadership of the Suleiman kwande-led PFA in the state is to ensure hidden talents are discovered to enable them play professional football abroad.
The Initiator of Plateau Scouting Football Tournament who is also an Edo based Chief Executive Officer, Rafo Sports Management ,Okaka Harrison said Plateau has over the years produced different talents in the national teams through grassroots discovery, hence the need to parade scouts down to the state to discover more talents and send them to different European and Asian clubs to build their professional carrier.The European and Asian football scouts said they have managed different clubs in Switzerland, Flamingo in Brazil and other parts of the Europe and Asia.
They said during their spells as coaches , they observed that Nigerians are determined to take their dream to the top and feature for their National teams noting that , this among others was another avenue for Nigeria players to showcase their talents.
Chairman Plateau State Football Association, Suleiman kwande reaffirmed his commitment to create a conducive atmosphere for the scouts to discover hidden talents and pledged to facilitate a parley between the Scouts and Governor Caleb Mutfwang whose vision is geared towards promoting unity and peaceful coexistence through sporting activities.
Speaking on behalf of the coaches, Coach Moses Ajala expressed gratitude to the CEO of Rafo Sports Management for considering Plateau and assured of their desire to present quality players towards the Scouting Tournament.
As at the time of filling in this report , the grassroots coaches were seen parading players for the tournament.
