The Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Plateau State has category stated to members who engage in an anti-party activities before, during and after the general election not to expect any appointments.
Making the disclosure, the State Chairman of the party in Plateau State, Hon. Rufus Bature in his opening remark stated that, some individuals posing as elders of the party in the state while engaging in anti-party activities will face sanctions in accordance with the party’s constitution.
Hon. Bature who made the statement at a stakeholders’ meeting which took place at the State party secretariat Kalwa House Jos the Plateau State capital today 6, July, 2023 .
Hon Bature revealed that the party under his watch is fully aware of certain members who worked against its interests in the last election and emphasized that disloyalty will not be rewarded.
He added that in doing so however, due process would be followed and those who needed to be sanctioned would be, in line with the party’s constitution.
Bature further stated that the party also watched with dismay, the activities of some self-styled leaders, who had allegedly been jumping from pillar to post, in search of federal appointments.
Additionally, the party chairman announced that the Party leadership in the state has uncovered desperate attempts to divide its ranks through the creation of a parallel party office.
Hon. Bature affirmed that the party is fully aware of these clandestine activities, which the APC strongly disapproves of.
On his part, the immediate past Governor Simon Bako Lalong, admonished all party faithful to sheathe their swords and forgive one another, as they have no other house other than the APC
Lalong stated that some members of the party engaged themselves in anti-party activities which they stand to benefit nothing but humiliation from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, led administration.
According to him, it’s better for them to be lords in their houses than tenants in another’s which at any time could spell doom for them.
Furthermore, Lalong said it was totally impossible for him as a governor to please everybody, and that it was sacrosanct for leaders to step on toes which was peculiar to his administration. However he went on, he is apologizing to all he stepped on their toes.
Furthermore, the leader of the party in the State, assured that the APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe , is sure of getting justice at the tribunal and secure the Governorship of the state.
Lalong commended the members of the National Assembly for acting maturely and subsuming into the mainstream after the leadership tussle of both chambers.
Lalong applauded elders of the party for deeming it fit to summon party elders, stakeholders and stalwarts to address challenges bedeviling APC in the state.
The meeting was attended by the immediate Former Deputy Governor, Prof. Sonni Tyoden, immediate past Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Rep. Idris Wase, Sen. Diket Plang, and Rep Yusuf Gagdi, Ishaya Lalu.
Others who are also present at the meeting were the immediate past Former Minister for Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, Plateau APC Governorship candidate, Dr Nentawe Yilwtada and his running mate, Hon. Pam Botmang, members of the state and national assemblies, local government chairmen, party officials, among many other APC stakeholders
