Also speaking on Plateau State being going through a lot, most especially in the area of crisis or attack, and the most affected area is his zone, and how he intend to stop the menace.
Sen. Mwatkon stated that, attacks/crisis on the Plateau State has being for long, and the major crisis that took place on the Plateau started in 2001.
It has passes through many Governments, many communiques and white papers but still people see the same things.
But I want to inform you that with the new administration of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang in the state many things have put in place.
He also revealed that “I myself was a victim of this unfortunate menace call crises, but by God grace he will give me the wisdom to tackle this situation and in tackling this menace, we as the representative of the people in the National Assembly, we have to work with the security apparatus.
Because to me the situation right now in the State and county at large can best be tackle by the police not the military, because the military are trained to protect the territorial integrity of the country.
But the military have being brought into the civil society and that doesn’t work well. The only security apparatus that were trained to handle civil case and disturbances are the police.

And if the police are uplifted, well train and giving the necessary tools, I tell you
Gentlemen I tell you that this matter will come to an end. Because the police have been empower to arrest, detain, and to prosecute while the military don’t have that power.
So when you don’t have the power to arrest, detain and prosecute so that he will pay for his crime definitely you will see another group coming up which is very disastrous.
If someone committed crime of this magnitude, is arrested, prosecuted and jailed for the crime committed it will serve as a detrend to others. But in a situation where by someone will be arrested for a crime like this and tomorrow people will see that person moving freely then I tell you there will be serious problem in the country.
And in some cases you hear those people boasting that they own the government, by the time the security apparatus started detaining and prosecuting them, they will tell the world which government do they own, but surely is not this Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Also speaking over the Security Chiefs addressing the Senate yesterday about the security issues, and his views, Sen. Mwatkon stated that, the security chiefs gave their own side of successes, inadequacies, and they put more light on their challenges inline with the rules of engagement.
