The Plateau State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Chief Ephraim Usman said the present Administration will continue to operate an open-door policy.
The Commissioner made this known when the EXCO of the Plateau State Nigeria Union of Journalist paid him a courtesy call in his office. Chief Usman stated that the Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang led administration is determined to bring development to the citizen adding that they are always open to meaningful suggestion from the people who voted them in.
He called on the media to give the present administration in the state the maximum support, particularly in publicizing government activities to its citizens.
Earlier in her remarked, the Plateau State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalist Mrs. Ayuku Pwaspo said they were in the Ministry to introduced themselves and seek areas of collaboration with the seventeen Local Government Councils to publicize their actives to the grassroots.
She also called for mediaengagement with the Ministry to enable the citizen of the State and people beyond the state to know the achievement of the Government.
Also at the Commissioner’s office were the Federal Road Safety Corp 15 Jos bye Pass Unit Command led by George Gyang who stated that they were at the Ministry to seek for help for a befitting office accommodation and vehicle to help them in their operation.
The Plateau State disability right Commission led by Dr. Lengnen Jurman also visited the Ministry where he called on the Ministry through the seventeen Local Government Councils to ensure that people with disability are well represented in their Cabinet, adding that it members should be consider for of employment opportunities and empowerment.
He decried a situation where their members are discriminated particularly in the area of employment, adding that this has led to some NGOs not partnering with them.
In his separate response the Hon. Commissioner, Chief Ephraim Usman commended the Federal Road Safety Corp for their role in securing the highways to against accident and assured that the Ministry in collaboration with the transport Ministry will assist them.
He assure the Plateau State disability right commission,that the Ministry will do everything possible to ensure that their member are well represented at the Local Government level and are empower within the available Local Government resources.
