The APC in Plateau State is highly elated, that the PDP led government under Governor Caleb Mutfwang has deemed it expedient and wise to continue with one of the Lalong legacies.

Acting Publicity Secretary All Progressive Congress APC Plateau State, in a statement made available to News Parrot Online stated that
this afternoon, it was reported that the Secretary to the Government of the State, Architect Samuel Jatau disclosed that the Mutfwang administration will continue with the revitalisation of the BARC farm for the benefit of the State.
Considering the economic viability and benefits of the Farm, to the people and the State government, the then Governor Simon Lalong recovered BARC from its former buyer, by paying the sum of ₦1.6 billion in 2020.
The Lalong administration, after taking possession, handed it over to PIPC, which in turn allocated plots of the farm to some senior civil servants and the labour for cultivation, as a means of food production and sufficiency as well as the economic well being of the people of the State.
Therefore,for the PDP administration to further develop the farm, is no doubt a welcome decision that will in no small way improve on food production,wealth creation and job opportunities in the State.
The government should go a step further by adequately addressing the entire food value chain, as a means of improving and sustaining food production in the State.
A situation where much attention is given to fertilizer procurement alone, is not always the best, but adequate information on modern farming techniques as well as input, and the issues of post harvest losses and storage facilities should be addressed for the small scale farmers to maximally benefit from the farming business.
The Mutfwang led government should also look at revamping the Bokkos fertiliser blending Company in order to reduce the cost in the procurement and distribution of the commodity apart from creating job opportunities for the locals.
