Shendam Local Government Council Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has carpet one Mr Thomas Aboki over his social media write up with a caption “APC AGAIN HIRED THUGS TO ASSAULT GOVERNOR MUTFWANG IN DAMSHIN”.
The Media Team in a statement made available to this medium stated that “We have read with utter disappointment and dismay, a sponsored write-up by one Thomas Aboki dated 23rd July 2023. RE: APC AGAIN HIRED THUGS TO ASSAULT GOVERNOR MUTFWANG IN DAMSHIN
We have read with utter disappointment and dismay, a sponsored write-up by one Thomas Aboki dated 23rd July 2023. In the said write-up which has gone viral in the social media, the young man has, in his usual senseless posts and habitual craving for recognition and relevance, come up with a wild allegation that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had mobilized thugs to assault Governor Caleb Mutfwang in Demshin.
Ordinarily, we would not have bothered to dignify him with any response, but for the weighty nature of this allegation which, to all intents and purposes, is sponsored to distract attention and befuddle the real issues. Clearly, the content and context of the irresponsible write-up are neither here nor there, for its entire substance is completely pedestrian.
It is on record that the APC has, times without number, cautioned its teeming members and supporters against acts that would cast them in bad light. While we condemn in its totality the booing of Gov. Mutfwang in Demshin yesterday, we are compelled to ask Mr. Thomas Aboki and his sponsors the following questions: i) does a “non-existent Party” as he mischievously describes the APC have the capacity to mobilize people to assault a sitting Governor who is surrounded by adequate security operatives?, ii) was APC written on the faces of those who allegedly assaulted Gov. Mutfwang?, iii) was the memorial mass then an APC event since you have contradictorily claimed that it was a politically-free event? iv) since Thomas Aboki is writing from Bakin Ciyawa in Qua’an-Pan LGA and was not at the venue of the incident, is he not rather acting naively on hearsay, with vain speculations? What a meddlesome interloper!
Furthermore, we wish to advise this way. Thomas Aboki as a disciple of Gov. Mutfwang should do some soul-searching as to why his principal is getting this kind of cold shoulders and rejection all over the place, and not turn himself into the devil’s advocate with inconsequential outbursts.
At this juncture while we await answers and clarifications from Mr. Aboki the hack-writer, the APC wishes to caution him against his tendentious insults and desperation to wish away expressions of anger and resentment against unpopular policies and dismal performances of leaders who have sworn an oath to defend the people they govern. Such expressions should be seen as a wake-up call to pragmatic governance and nothing more.
