There has been palpable disquiet in the Plateau State chapter of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), over an alleged missing of sole hajj seat, allotted it by the State Government, investigation has revealed.
A confidential source within the JNI hierarchy, also confirmed the missing of the seat alleging that, “information at his disposal revealed that the seat was indeed sold by one of the leaders.”
Investigation has revealed that, all of the Islamic groups, have been allotted sole seats, which all, “except the JNI, have selected a beneficiary amongst them.”
The State secretary of Fityanul Islam of Nigeria, Malam Sabo Umar, has confirmed that their group has received its slot; so also officials of some of the Islamic groups has confirmed receiving theirs.
In like manner, an official of, Lajnatu Dariqatut Tijjaniyya (popularly called the Lajna) has confirmed receiving their slot and, “we have choosing our publicity secretary, Umar Sahihi, as beneficiary of this year’s hajj rites.”
But the State Secretary of, JNI Dr Salem Umar Musa, said he was not aware of, “any allocation of the seat.”
“As the State Secretary of the JNI, I am not aware of any hajj seat, if any have been allocated. The State chairman has not informed me; the deputy chairman has also not told me. So I am not aware of its whereabouts,” he said.
Another of issue of concerned to the JNI officials, is the allocation of government Ramadan package of food items, where it was confirmed that the ten (10), bags of rice, and another ten (10), bags of millet only were given to the JNI for onward distribution across the 17 LGAs of the State.
An inside source confided in this reporter, that the items were received and kept by the state deputy chairman of JNI, “but most of the officials are not happy with the allocations.”
“How can 17 LGAs branch of JNI, distribute 10 bags of rice, and another 10 bags of millet,” the source said.
Similarly, the JNI Secretary, Salem Musa, said the state deputy chairman, Alhaji Garba Abdulkadir, has told him that the Government has sent the items and are now in his custody.
“I am away for some days. We are not taken it, it grossly inadequate,” he said.
